Christmas Crackers - Online Trade over Peak Season

The three panellists are:

  • Lesley Landels is the founder of Love Scottish and recently won Women Enterprise Scotland Award for Embracing Technology for the best use of apps and embracing AI with her online business complete integration. Lesley Landels business trades as Love Scottish and is based in the Borders. Lesley started her business in 2010 as a candle business after having worked with Edinburgh Woollen Mill and Johnstons of Elgin. While Lesley's business is small, it is growing and getting much media attention for making a success online from a rural area!
  • Lee Rooney is Founder and Managing Director of Endrick Trading and is responsible for the daily operations of scottishfoodandhampers.co.uk, kiltsocks.co.uk ,batterymarket.co.uk, diabetichampers.co.uk. glutenfreehampers.co.uk and haggisuk.co.uk.  The business was founded in 2006 following his earlier career as assistant Director for 'Taggart' and 'Casualty'. Lees primary focus at this time of year is managing three specialist online Hamper businesses from his warehouse in Balfron.
  • Rachel Hanretty calls herself the Chief Mademoiselle of Mademoiselle Macaron, an ecommerce and distributorship of macarons which she originally started aged 23 from her flat in Paris! She is listed this month in Scottish Field and we have a post on the Ecommerce Club Linkedin page about this. From opening and closing bricks and mortar retail, to scaling to making 35,000 macarons a week. Rachel's aim is to grow the business towards a £5million turnover after reading in a Global Entrepreneur Survey stating that the number of women led businesses at this level was almost non existent. She wants to help smash that statistic in the 2020s to bring about gender equality at a high business level and to be a role model.
