The Importance of Customer Experience in Ecommerce

Neil is a Senior Strategic Partner Manager at Gorgias. Prior to joining, Neil worked with Gorgias in his role as a Digital Consultant for ecommerce agencies to help deliver growth for DTC brands. Having worked across multiple ecommerce platforms, Neil found himself specialising in Shopify Plus and has launched his own ecommerce brand, Tartan Scarf Co to sustainably design and manufacture scarves in the Scottish Highlands, in turn becoming a true evangelist for customer experience.

In the ever-evolving realm of ecommerce, customer experience emerges as a defining factor for sustainable growth and competitive advantage.

With increasing competition in the online marketplace, providing exceptional customer service has become a crucial differentiating factor. One effective way to enhance customer experience is by utilizing custom support tools. These tools, like Gorgias, offer a range of features that streamline customer interactions and improve response times. By implementing such tools, businesses can efficiently handle customer queries, resolve issues promptly, and provide personalized assistance. This level of service not only satisfies customers but also creates a positive impression, leading to customer loyalty and retention.

Neil’s presentation delves into the importance of customer experience, unveiling key takeaways such as:

  1. the impact of responding to customers quickly and efficiency has on conversions and retention.
  2. the role of social media as a support channel in enhancing customer satisfaction, engagement, and ROAS
  3. the importance of allowing the customer to self serve
  4. the impact of seamless and intuitive user interfaces on conversion rates.
